Burkina Faso has seen its livestock numbers increase between 2% (goats, sheep, and chickens) and 3% (cattle, pigs) annually from 2005 to 2014. The number of goats exceed 13.8 million head, followed by sheep at 9.3 million, cattle at over 9.1 million, and pigs at 2.3 million. The national camel herd is only about 18,000 animals.
